1. Scope of validity

Welcome to What in Albania – Book & Travel. By accessing or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“T&C”). Please read them carefully.

These Terms apply to all users of the WiA app and govern the use of all services provided through the platform.

2. General information

2.1. The WiA app provides users with information about Albania, including but not limited to destinations, attractions, accommodations, experiences, tours, events, and travel-related services.

2.2. Users can explore, save, and organize preferred locations and services within the app.

2.3. The app includes information about public transportation in Albania. WiA does not sell or provide public transportation tickets.

2.4. The app enables users to discover and directly book accommodations, tours, experiences, and other services offered by third-party providers.

2.5. Any booking made through the WiA app creates a direct contractual relationship between the user and the respective third-party provider, not with What in Albania.

3. Use of the WiA app

3.1. The app is available free of charge. There is no subscription model; all users have access to the same core features.

3.2. The app can be used in:

  • Guest mode (limited functionality), or
  • Registered user mode, which unlocks full features such as bookings, saved items, and personalized services.

3.3. Registration may be required to access certain features. Users may create an account via email or other supported methods and may delete their account at any time within the app.

3.4. Use of the app requires internet access. Some saved content may be available offline.

3.5. The app must not be used in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

3.6. The WiA app and its content must not be used in connection with:

  • malicious software (e.g., spyware, adware),
  • spam or deceptive practices,
  • illegal sales or services,
  • hate speech, abusive or offensive content,
  • illegal activities including fraud, hacking, or unauthorized surveillance,
  • prostitution, illegal gambling, or sale of stolen goods.

3.7. Users must not interfere with the app’s infrastructure (servers, systems, or networks).

3.8. Users are responsible for keeping the app updated. WiA is not liable for issues caused by outdated versions.

4. Bookings and Third-Party Services

4.1. The WiA app acts as an intermediary platform connecting users with third-party service providers (e.g., hotels, hosts, tour operators, transport providers).

4.2. When making a booking, the user enters into a direct agreement with the respective provider. WiA is not a party to that agreement.

4.3. Providers are solely responsible for:

  • service delivery,
  • pricing accuracy,
  • availability,
  • cancellations and refunds,
  • compliance with applicable laws.

4.4. WiA does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of services provided by third parties.

4.5. Any disputes, claims, or issues related to bookings must be resolved directly between the user and the service provider.

4.6. WiA may display prices, availability, and descriptions provided by third parties but does not guarantee their accuracy at all times.

4.7. There are two payment methods available:

  1. Full Payment by Card – the customer pays the full amount online via card at the time of booking.
  2. Partial Payment by Card – only the commission/service fee of WiA is charged online via card, while the remaining balance is paid directly at the location when the service is consumed.

In all cases, payments transferred by WiA to service providers are processed only after the service has been consumed, according to the payment intervals agreed between the parties.

5. Role of the Platform / Nature of Service

  • All accommodations, tours, experiences, transportation, and other services available through the WIA app are provided by independent third-party providers (“Partners”).
  • WIA does not own, operate, manage, or control any Partner services.
  • Partners are solely responsible for the quality, safety, legality, and delivery of their services.
  • By booking or using a service, the User acknowledges that the contractual relationship is directly with the Partner and not with WIA.

6. Third-Party Service Disclaimer

  • WIA is not liable for any injury, accident, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity arising from the acts or omissions of any Partner.
  • WIA makes no guarantees regarding the safety, quality, suitability, or legality of services provided by Partners.
  • Users accept full responsibility for their own safety and due diligence when using third-party services.

7. Warranty and Liability

7.1. The user acknowledges that software may contain errors and that uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

7.2. All information in the app is compiled with care; however, WiA does not guarantee completeness or accuracy unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

7.3. WiA is not liable for:

  • interruptions or technical failures,
  • internet connectivity issues,
  • third-party service failures,
  • force majeure events.

7.4. The app is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

7.5. WiA disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

7.6. WiA is not liable for minor damages or damages caused by slight negligence. This does not apply to:

  • gross negligence,
  • personal injury,
  • mandatory legal liability.

7.7. Users are responsible for their own safety while using the app, including when navigating locations or traveling.

8. Intellectual Property and Links

Information in certain categories (e.g., utilities, public services) may be sourced from government institutions or third-party providers. WiA does not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of such data.

9. External Data Sources

Data source for the category “Utilities” are collected by governmental institutions and different servce providers in Albania (such as hospitals, municipalities, police station etc.)

10. Data Privacy

All data processing and privacy practices are governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Final Provisions

11.1. By using the app, users agree fully to these Terms.

11.2. WiA reserves the right to suspend or block users who violate these Terms.

11.3. Official communication may be conducted via email or in-app notifications.

11.4. Amendments to these Terms must be made in writing.

11.5. These Terms are governed by the laws of Albania. The competent courts in Albania shall have jurisdiction.
